AEW has officially announced the addition of Jerry Lynn as a coach to the company. Lynn has most recently worked as a producer and agent for Ring of Honor, in a role that began in 2016.
Lynn is widely considered to be one of the most legendary ring technicians of the modern era. His hard-hitting rapid fire style in the ring made him a star in Paul Heyman’s ECW, where Lynn was a world champion. Jerry is also a former ROH World champion and WWE Light Heavyweight champion.
This is just the latest signing for AEW, which continues to announce new talent for the ring, as well as behind the scenes. Lynn brings invaluable knowledge and experience to the table, in a pro wrestling career that spans nearly 31 years. He should definitely be an asset to the company.
AEW’s first event as a pro wrestling entity will take place on Saturday, May 25 in Las Vegas. Double or Nothing is the followup to 2018’s ALL IN, which saw Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks come together to create one of the most anticipated nights in recent pro wrestling history. The success of that night ultimately led to the creation of All Elite Wrestling, which is expected to be on television by the fall of 2019.
There is no word yet on whether or not Lynn will attempt to juggle his duties with Ring of Honor and his new gig with AEW. The two companies are not working together in a known capacity, so it’s entirely possible that Jerry will officially make the move from ROH to AEW sooner rather than later.
