Styles Displays Blue Title, Impact Contract News, Fastlane Change

During a recent live event AJ Styles decided to hold up a custom WWE Championship title, and not the eco-friendly version that Daniel Bryan currently wears to the ring. After his match against Bryan during the show in Syracuse, New York, Styles took a microphone and promised to the crowd that he will become WWE Champion again someday. “The Phenomenal One” then grabbed a replica title from a fan at ringside, but the strap of the WWE Championship was entirely blue. The Universal Championship on Raw is mounted on a red strap, and there were rumors the SmackDown’s top title would get a blue strap during the early days of the relaunched brand split. This could be a sign that the WWE Championship will be coming back with a new look as soon as Bryan loses the hemp version.

As reported yesterday, there are quite a few members of the Impact Wrestling roster who have either left the promotion or have yet to sign new deals. Meanwhile, others like Moose and Madison Rayne have been signed to new multi-year deals. According to a report from SEScoops, most of the names that have signed new contracts that Impact has been announcing lately were actually secured months ago. Most of the new signees inked their deals in October, which would have been prior to Impact moving its show over to the Pursuit Channel. Some members of the roster, like Eli Drake, still have yet to re-sign with Impact. However, it was noted that most of the top names in the promotion are already set to stay on board.

Fastlane is only a few days away from taking place now, but WWE is still not finished making changes and announcements for the show. It was confirmed during Raw last night that Becky Lynch will return to face Charlotte Flair during the event, and The Shield will also be reuniting in what will be Roman Reigns’ first match back in months. However, the company is reportedly prepared to make another big change to the card. According to WrestleVotes, fans can expect to see some sort of alteration made to the Fastlane event during tonight’s episode of SmackDown. Details on what this change will bring were not provided, so fans will just have to tune in to SmackDown when it airs live on the USA Network later tonight to find out.

I rarely do this, but I’m working on some news for tonight’s SmackDown. Having trouble confirming it, so nothing to report just yet. But I’m hearing we may see another change to the FastLane card. Stay tuned.
