Number Of Indian Students In US Down By 27% Since Trump Took Office, Is ‘American Dream’ Over?

The results of a restrictive immigration policy are now clearly evident with the number of student visas issued by the Trump regime dropping, especially to those hailing from India and China.

Statistics for the year ended September 30, 2017 show an aggregate decline of 16% compared to the corresponding previous year, with 4.21 lakh student visas handed out against 5.02 lakh in the year-ago period, according to data released by the US Department of State.

For Indian students, the drop is a sharper 27%, with 47,302 visas being allotted in the same period as against 65,257 visas issued in the fiscal ended September 30, 2016 under the Obama presidency.
