There wasn’t an update on Smith-Schuster’s status Friday, except for a tweet from his personal Twitter account.

“I will be ok and can’t wait to get back out on the field with my brothers,” he said,

He followed up that tweet with another expressing speedy recoveries to teammates James Conner, Diontae Johnson, Artie Burns Jr. and Olasunkanmi Adeniyi, all of whom were injured in the 21-7 loss. Johnson joined Smith-Schuster in concussion protocol and was seen bleeding from his ear as he exited the field Thursday.

Smith-Schuster was placed in concussion protocol on two occasions in 2017 when he was a rookie.

The 22-year-old receiver has made 17 touchdown catches in less than three NFL seasons and is considered a focal point of Pittsburgh’s offense.
