Week 6 Fantasy PPR Rankings: Tight end | Sporting News

Try as we might, our PPR rankings at the tight end position are never that different from our standard TE rankings, and that holds true for Week 6. That makes some sense, /at the bottom end of the position, where you might be streaming or just relying on an underwhelming option, any sleeper value comes from volume. There are tight ends more prone to the big play than others, but not to the same extent as at wide receiver. There’s no DeSean Jackson of TEs.

Of course, just as we wrote in the standard rankings, Austin Hooper wins the matchup sweepstakes this week against Arizona. He’s already been a top-tier tight end this season, especially in PPR with his consistent volume. He’ll be a favorite DFS play this week, too.

WEEK 6 NON-PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Gerald Everett broke out on a prime-time stage on Thursday Night Football last week for the Rams. He had seven catches for 136 yards, showing off both potential for volume and dynamic after-the-catch ability. It’s unlikely that he’ll see such high usage every week because the L.A. offense has so many weapons. But in his best weeks, in a high-volume passing offense, Everett will be a fantasy starter.

Chris Herndon returns from suspension this week for the Jets, and he’s a borderline fantasy starter assuming Sam Darnold is back from mono. As a rookie, Herndon averaged 2.5 catches in the games he started, so maybe he’s not any more of a PPR option than a standard option. But at a position without a lot of options, Herndon might be worth a pickup.

Week 6 sees the first four-team bye week of the season. Fantasy owners will be without Darren Waller, Eric Ebron, Jack Doyle, Dawson Knox and Trey Burton.
