This looks like bad news for the Cubs.
Cole Hamels left his start Friday against the Reds after throwing one warmup pitch before the second inning.
He gave up one run on two hits and a walk in the first frame before he left just a few minutes later.
Hamels has been the Cubs’ best pitcher this year going 6-2 with a 2.92 ERA in 16 starts.
His 3.55 FIP trails only Kyle Hendricks for Chicago starters.
