PSG President Al-Khelaifi heading for another legal victory in Swiss misappropriation case

Heavily involved in combating the health crisis affecting the world, PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is heading for a judicial victory, having been under criminal proceedings since October 2017 in Switzerland for “instigation of misappropriation”.

According to Le Monde, the Swiss Federal Criminal Court (TPF) “asked, on Thursday, March 26, for the prosecution to review their own case by sending back its indictment as part of the granting of rights to BeIN Media Football World Cups 2026 and 2030 televised for the Middle East and North Africa region.”

Indeed, the judges consider that the alleged improprieties occurred in a private context, “unrelated to Mr. Valcke’s professional activity and the function he exercised” at FIFA. Consequently, the Swiss court questions what was perceived as “misappropriation” by the prosecution. According to a source close to the case, “the judges did not want to go to trial with a case that did not hold up,” the newspaper said.

Last February, Nasser al-Khelaïfi had already seen the charges of “active bribery” dropped in this same legal proceeding.
