Brest made a late attempt to sign Reims’ youngster Alexis Flips on deadline day

As reported by Foot Mercato, Brest’s search for an attacking midfielder to replace Lyon-bound Romain Faivre led them to Reims young creator Alexis Flips before seeing two offers rejected by the Champagne club on deadline day.

Earlier in the month, Villarreal contacted Reims for Flips (21) while Watford and Eintracht Frankfurt were also interested in the Frenchman with Reims valuing the breakout player at around €7m. Bournemouth and Alaves made enquiries for the player in the summer too.
