According to GOAL France Kylian Mbappé met with PSG manager Christophe Galtier on Monday along with sporting advisor Luís Campos – where the Frenchman explained his motivation to play as soon as possible, admitting that he feels good enough both mentally and physically.
GOAL also reports that Mbappé’s early return to training implies that involvement in PSG’s match against Strasbourg on 28th December is very likely, but also that an early return to action is in an effort to turn the page on failing to win the World Cup with France as quickly as possible. It also sends a strong message to his PSG teammates that will still be on holiday during his time away such as Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Marquinhos.
The post-World Cup dynamic at Paris Saint-Germain will be interesting to watch unfold, with Mbappé and Messi being on opposite sides of the pitch during what was a fiercely contested final between France and Argentina. Both players scored in the final, with Mbappé scoring the first hat trick since Geoff Hurst, and Lionel Messi scoring a double and lifting the World Cup trophy following penalties.
