With the road to WWE WrestleMania now in full swing, speculation over peoples matches has begun and the latest online report claims Braun Strowman is set to be in a big match this year.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Strowman is currently set to face The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at WWE WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans in April.
However, there are people within WWE that believe he should be the Universal Champion after this weekend’s WWE Royal Rumble event. Below is a highlight of Meltzer’s statement with a h/t to NoDQ.com for the transcription.
“There are people who believe Strowman should win the three-way at the Rumble and it’s the time to make him champion, but at least after RAW that was not the way (Vince) McMahon was thinking.”
Meltzer had also previously stated that WWE has big plans for The Miz this WrestleMania, so this goes along with that story as it would be a major, featured match on the biggest show of the year.
