Voice Of Wrestling is now available on FITE TV and this week Nick Paglino and Chris Cash broke down everything WrestleMania 34 related.
In particular, they went into detail about Ronda Rousey and how WWE has handled the former UFC star so far, looking at her highs and lows.
Her Final Raw Segment
Chris Cash:
“She got physical again, Stephanie went over, it was an interesting segment in the beginning but they are doing a good job in getting people interested in all of this. The fans have really held on to the story of Ronda Rousey’s first match, I think it has been hit or miss in some cases over the past few weeks in how much they are using her on the mic and sum up the uncomfortableness of her on the mic, but I do think they are making it go in the right direction.”
Nick Paglino:
“I thought it was a good final segment. Like you said, there’s obvious green aspects to Ronda Rousey, it’s funny, you take a talent like that who is so well known as an athlete, she just transcended the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, she’s an absolute veteran, yet you can really tell she is a rookie in the pro wrestling environment. It’s really difficult to bring her in and establish her as the badass that we know she is in an entertainment forum. As much as wrestling mirrors a combat sport, it is entertainment and a television show and people like Rousey prove you van have that ability, much like a Kurt Angle, but there is going to be a process to transition into entertainment and I think she is handling it very well.”
Her WrestleMania Debut Match
Chris Cash:
“When you really put all things into perspective this is going to be either amazing or a disaster and I don’t know that either one, the disaster part of it will end up hurting her. When you finally get to the match I anticipate a ton of protection physically, in the standpoint that most of the match will be carried by Triple H and Kurt Angle which has some risks in of it self with Angle at this point. He has proven he can go in the ring and will be okay, when he does get in the ring he pushes himself to the limit, like Daniel Bryan who gets back for the first time and is out there taking powerbombs off the ring apron.”
Nick Paglino:
“Without a doubt, there’s been a great build up to it, its sort of a babyface vs heel thing and let’s not take out of the question, Kurt Angle. A lot of people are excited to see Kurt Angle back in the ring and as a lot of people speculated a couple of weeks ago, I really think that Triple H and Angle will be doing most of the work, the match is really going to be Triple H vs Kurt Angle. I think it will be really great to see Angle’s return and add to that mix whatever Ronda Rousey will provide, I am very excited for it.”
Nick also gave his thoughts on who should be the mystery tag team partner for Braun Strowman at WrestleMania, laying out a detailed plan.
Here it is, so the show opens you have the kick off, Braun is there in the back and Kurt asks who his partner is, and he doesn’t have one yet. During the Kick Off he yells and says someone come out and be my partner, you get Zack Ryder and much like Strowman did on Raw he destroys Ryder. He demands another partner, Miztourage comes out, he says nah, he destroys them. He goes to the back and sees Dolph Ziggler, he said he would love it but he has to be a Raw superstar. The announce team hypes it up throughout the night, we have Elias .He has been teasing he will be doing some grand performance at WrestleMania, so here it is. He is there, with a backing band he plays this great song with a band and destroying New Orleans and it’s the biggest and best performance he has ever done then all of a sudden, BRAUNNN, his music hits here he comes, he destroys the band and lays out Elias.
He grabs Elias’ lifeless body and drags him in the ring, picks up the mic and says Kurt I have my partner. From a logic standpoint, Elias has to be conscious, the referee comes down and Elias is coming to, and Braun says be my partner, he says okay as he doesn’t want to be destroyed anymore. Sheamus and Cesaro comes out, Strowman annihilates Elias again and faces The Bar on his own with Elias in the corner dead the entire time and he wins the match and becomes the champion with Elias who never steps foot in the ring. I think that would be a cool, fun, gimmicky way for it to go down with Braun Strowman, now what I think Is going to happen is it’ll be the Big Show and who cares, so there.
