Breaking News: New Champion Crowned at ROH Live Event in Dallas, TX

Just two weeks before Ring of Honor returns to pay-per-view with Best in the World, Punishment Martinez has shocked the world by capturing the ROH World Television Championship at a live event in Dallas, TX.

In what started out as just another house show, Punishment competed in a six-way main event known as the Proving Ground match where the winner would receive an instant championship opportunity. He would go on to defeat Jonathan Gresham, Hangman Page, Cheeseburger, Scorpio Sky, and the ROH TV champ himself Silas Young.

The 36-year-old Puerto Rican star then immediately cashed in on his guaranteed title opportunity, facing Young in singles competition and defeating him to become the new ROH World TV Champion. This is his first major title of any kind, for any more promotion.

While we can’t confirm this year, it would appear they are building the rematch between Martinez and Young for the 6/29 Best in the World pay-per-view.
