WWE Mixed Match Challenge Results
Season 2 – Week 1
WWE’s unique, social media-driven, intergender tag team tournament makes its returns with some brand new teams and a new set of rules. This time around, instead of a single elimination format, teams from the Raw brand will face off in a Round Robin style tournament, while the teams from Smackdown Live do the same.
The opening contest featured action from Monday Night Raw superstars, as the last-minute duo of Braun Strowman and Ember Moon scored a big victory over Team Pawz, Kevin Owens and Natalya.
K.O. spent the majority of the match attempting to stay as far away from the Monster Among Men as humanly possible, but once Strowman finally got his hands on the cocky Canadian things very quickly broke down into a wild brawl all around ringside. Moons ultimately scored the victory for her team, performing a Super Eclipse off the shoulders of her monstrous partner!
In the second match of the night, Smackdown action saw WWE Champion AJ Styles team up with Charlotte Flair to take on one of the tournament’s married couples, Jimmy Uso and Naomi.
Despite suffering a brutal beatdown at the hands of Becky Lynch just moments before Mixed Match Challenge went on the air, the Queen was in rare form, kicking off the match with a springboard plancha taking out both her opponents on the outside. After a competitive, back-and-forth match, Charlotte connected with a sick boot to the face before locking in the Figure Eight to pick up the victory.
Here’s a look at the updated brackets from the Smackdown side:
Announced for next week’s show is:
