ROH’s Women’s World Championship tournament has its final participant.
Quinn McKay has been confirmed for the Women’s World Championship tournament and will be facing Mandy Leon in the first round. After McKay was unsuccessful in her first two attempts to get into the tournament, ROH held a fan vote on their “ROH The Experience” Facebook page to determine if she should receive the final spot. The vote ended with 95 percent of respondents saying McKay should be in the tournament.
McKay previously lost matches against Angelina Love and Leon where the stipulation was that she would’ve gotten a spot in the tournament if she won. Both of those losses included outside interference. Leon helped Love defeat McKay on ROH TV this May. Leon then defeated McKay earlier this month, with Love giving Leon brass knuckles to use during the match.
ROH has announced that Love and Leon will be banned from ringside during each other’s tournament matches. Love is getting a first-round bye due to her win against McKay.
McKay is a member of the ROH broadcast team. Her matches against Love and Leon are the first two times she’s wrestled for ROH.
The Women’s World Championship tournament will begin airing on the ROH TV episode that premieres this Saturday. Miranda Alize vs. Alex Gracia, Mazzerati vs. Nicole Savoy, and Sumie Sakai vs. Rok-C are set for the episode.
The finals of the tournament will take place at ROH’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view this September.
