EDMOND, Okla. — St. Cloud State University (17-0, 4-0 NSIC) wrestling remained the unanimous No. 1 team in NCAA Division II wrestling rankings according to the Division II Wrestling Coaches Association poll released Tuesday, Jan. 29.
The Huskies who took over the top spot in the last poll after capturing the NWCA Division II National Duals title on Jan. 13, received all eight first-place votes in balloting of head coaches from around the country to finish with 160 points. SCSU is 17-0 in duals and riding a 43-match winning streak.
Fans will have an opportunity to watch the #1 Huskies on Friday, Feb. 1 in Halenbeck Hall. SCSU will battle NSIC rival University of Mary and the action will get underway at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the gate for this important match. All SCSU students with a valid SCSU student ID card will be admitted FREE to this match. SCSU’s Andy Pokorny maintained his top ranking at 133-pounds and Shamus O’Grady moved into the nation’s number one spot at 184-pounds in this week’s poll. SCSU’s Eric Forde is now ranked #4 at 125-pounds (up three spots from #7 in the last poll) and Clint Poster holds his spot this week as the nation’s #8 ranked wrestler at 157-pounds. SCSU’s Jacob Kahnke also remained as the nation’s #2 ranked wrestler at 285-pounds in this week’s poll.
Division II newcomer Notre Dame (Ohio) earned all eight second-place votes and stayed No. 2 with 152 points, followed by seven-time Division II champion Central Oklahoma, Newberry (S.C.) and Pittsburgh-Johnstown, which jumped from 11th to fifth.

Rounding out the top 10 is Upper Iowa, defending national champion Nebraska-Kearney, Findlay (Ohio), Colorado Mesa and Minnesota State-Mankato. Mercyhurst (Pa.) moved into the poll at No. 13 after being unranked two weeks ago.
