Longtime music composer for WWE Jim Johnston was reported to have been released from the company last week. Those reports have since been confirmed by numerous other sources. The choice to remove him was supposedly due to his hefty contract with the company. The Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer has now confirmed that these reports are all accurate. It is also being said that WWE had been planning to cut Johnston for a while. Now that CFO$ creates much of the music for WWE talent, the company was waiting for Johnston’s deal to expire before they let him go. Johnston reportedly wanted to continue working for WWE, but the company had other plans.
Mia Yim is currently a top name on the independent scene when it comes to women’s wrestling. Yim managed to impress audiences during her stints in Impact Wrestling and WWE’s Mae Young Classic tournament, and she has been churning out great matches in other promotions as well. Unforuntely, Yim revealed that she is dealing with an injury which will keep her out of action until the spring of 2018. The injury involves her leg, but she did not specify more beyond that. Mia Yim has announced that she will still be taking bookings for wrestling and signings in the meantime, and she has vowed to return to the ring “stronger and better than ever!”

One wrestler that the WWE audience has not heard too much from in recent months is R-Truth. As reported yesterday, R-Truth recently revealed that he has had to miss several weeks of action because he is dealing with an arm injury. Truth updated fans by posting a video of himself just before he received surgery for his injury. He discusses the nature of the injury in the video (such as needing to have loose bone removed from his shoulder), and he thanks the fans as well. R-Truth had been involved in feuds with “The Drifter” Elias and Goldust before he was injured. Hopefully, Truth will be out of surgery very soon.
