WWE Pays Tribute to Chyna, Itami Uses Neville’s Move, Hogan Suing

Chyna had been a very controversial figure for several years before she passed away back in 2016. At one point, WWE made very little mention of her on television, and they’ve only recently been talking about her on TV again. Today would have been Chyna’s 48th birthday and several wrestlers, including her former partner Sean Waltman, have paid tribute to her on social media, but WWE themselves have released a statement about the former Women’s Champion on their Instagram account. Chyna was a celebrated performed who also won the Intercontinental Championship and was the first woman to enter the Royal Rumble match.

Take some time to remember the late, great #9thWonderOfTheWorld CHYNA on her birthday today…

I think about her all the time, but especially today. It’s her birthday. pic.twitter.com/29BUiIVAa7

Hideo Itami recently debuted on Monday Night Raw and on 205 Live as part of WWE’s cruierweight division after spending several years working in NXT. He has been using the GTS, a move popularized on WWE television by CM Punk for a while now, but Itami has seemingly incorporated another maneuver into his repertoire: the Rings of Saturn. What makes the sudden usage of this move so interesting is that it was once the signature submission move of former Cruiserweight Champion Neville. Itami defeated Jack Gallagher on 205 Live last night with the move. This could be another sign that Neville is definitely done for good with WWE.
Hulk Hogan and Gawker Media were engaged in a widely-publicized legal battle after the aforementioned company leaked a privately filmed sex tape featuring “The Hulkster” online. The lawsuit ultimately saw Hogan win the case and Gawker Media was forced to shut down their operations as a result. ABC has reported that Hogan is now suing Tampa radio personalities Mike “Cowhead” Calta and Matt “Spice Boy” Loyd for allegedly being involved in a conspiracy to extort Hogan and ruin his reputation. A judge recently ruled that the lawsuit will be moving forward. Calta and Loyd have yet to speak out about the allegations and the judge has given them both 20 days to respond.
