Neville is now a former WWE Superstar since the British high-flyer was officially let go from the company earlier this week. Neville originally decided to leave the company last year, but WWE decided to freeze his contract until an agreement on a possible return or departure could be made between the two sides. Unfortunately for fans hoping to see more of “The King of the Cruiserweights,” Neville is now gone from WWE and is reportedly free to work wherever he chooses to go. Interestingly enough, World of Sport’s Stu Bennett has just invited Neville to appear at future World of Sport events. With Neville now able to wrestle in other promotions, it will be interesting to see where the former NXT Champion goes next.

WWE just wrapped up another successful SummerSlam event in Brooklyn, New York last week. This year marked the fourth year in a row that SummerSlam has been hosted in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center arena, but WWE did not confirm if they will be returning for the event next year. Although Brooklyn has become known as the home of SummerSlam over the past few years, it certainly looks like WWE will be bringing the show to another venue next summer. According to PWInsider, WWE is expected to host SummerSlam in Toronto next August. Monday Night Raw takes place in Toronto tomorrow night, so it is definitely possible that the company will be officially announcing the location of next year’s SummerSlam event very soon.
Lilian Garcia is known for her time as a ring announcer in WWE. For years now, Garcia has worked on and off again with the company as a ring announcer, and she is still part of the WWE family today thanks to her Chasing Glory podcast, where she regularly interviews current WWE roster members. She recently took the time to reflect on her WWE debut on social media, which took place nineteen years ago this week. Garcia also mentioned that she began her job right away without any basic training, and that she replaced WWE Hall of Famer and legendary ring announcer Howard Finkel in the process. It was certainly no easy task, but her hard work and dedication to the job helped her become a recognized ring announcer in the company.
You may see a smile on my face here but inside my stomach was doing all sorts of cartwheels! AND replacing WWE Hall of Famer, Howard Finkel! ?????? The pressure was almost unbearable and I almost ran! ???? Looking back now, I don’t know what kept me from running (besides God himself by my side) but man, am I glad I didn’t! What an adventure I would continue to live for 15 years. Traveling the world, working with incredible athletes, staff & company, along with performing on live TV – all SO exhilarating and life changing. I share this in hopes that if any of you find yourself so scared to do something and you really want to run… DON’T!! Push through and let the adrenaline be your guiding force through the fear! Yup, 19 years ago today was my first day on the job with @WWE. I had just turned 33, I was a woman in a male dominated industry, and I had no formal training for ring announcing. You can say the odds were stacked against me but what I did have was this: belief in myself. I trusted all the years of hosting, singing, and being a radio DJ to get me through that night and on to a career. How many of you are holding yourself back because you don’t believe in yourself or you think you are too old, too young, wrong gender, wrong race, don’t have enough experience, etc? Stop focusing on being too _____, and start focusing on how amazing you ARE and what you DO have to offer!
