Prior to NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, there had been a lot of rumors suggesting that WWE had signed Matt Riddle to an NXT deal. During Takeover, Riddle’s signing was confirmed, but in the weeks after that, Riddle has only wrestled on a few NXT live events. Fans of Riddle no longer have any reason to be worried for him as he just made his official debut at Full Sail University during the recent set of NXT tapings. Fans in attendance for the shows have noted that Riddle was able to get a win over Luke Menzies. Fellow recent NXT signee Mia Yim also successfully defeated Aliyah in her first NXT appearance as an official member of the roster. Look for these matches to air on NXT programming very soon.

During last night’s NXT tapings, a major heel turn seemingly took place. Aleister Black returned on NXT this week, but it now appears that the man who mysteriously attacked him and took him out of action has been revealed. While the tapings were going on, Black was attacked once again by a man who was hiding under a black hood. Once the hood was removed, it was revealed that none other than Johnny Gargano appears to be the man who has been laying out the former NXT Champion. Given Gargano’s popularity with the NXT audience, it will certainly be interesting to see how he does as a heel. The segment involving Gargano’s apparent heel turn is expected to air on next week’s edition of NXT.

Fans in attendance for the NXT tapings last night were treated to a few surprises. In addition to brand new stars like Matt Riddle appearing in Full Sail University for the first time ever, a couple of big names from NXT’s past made appearances. According to images provided by those who attended the tapings, Seth Rollins, Xavier Woods, Cesaro, Ruby Riott, and Tyler Breeze all appeared to announce that they will be facing a group of NXT Superstars. They won’t be doing battle in a wrestling match, but rather a League of Legends video game tournament. The main roster stars will take on the team of Adam Cole, Dakota Kai, Shayna Baszler, and Johnny Gargano around the time of NXT Takeover: WarGames.
