Last night’s episode of WWE Raw (7/9) on USA Network drew a 1.73 rating, down from last week’s 1.80 and down from the ten week rolling averaged headed into this week of 1.85.

The hourly trend returned to a sizable dropoff from hour one to hour three, going from 2.582 million in hour one to 2.508 in hour two to 2.320 in hour three. The dropoff from first to third hour was 262,000.

The year-ago rating was 2.04 and two years ago rating was 2.28. That’s not a good trend, but these current lower ratings still put Raw among the top rated shows on cable. Among 18-49 year old viewers for the week of June 25-July 1, Raw’s three hours ranked four, five, and six in the cable rankings, behind only “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,” “Jersey Shore Family Vacation,” and “Basketball Wives.” WWE Smackdown that week finished no. 10. Still, this level of dropoff in interest in the program is a bellwether indicator that WWE is losing viewers and could probably retain more viewers with some tweaks to the booking approach and the wrestlers they’re choosing to cast in certain prominent roles.
