MOORHEAD, Minn.—The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team will travel to Kenosha, Wis., this weekend for a dual against Wisconsin-Parkside. The dual begins on Saturday at 7 p.m.
In their last competition, the Dragons traveled to Indianapolis, Ind., for the Midwest Classic. Sophomore Mason Schulz finished seventh at 141 for MSUM and went 4-2 on the weekend. Schulz pinned Seton Hill’s Joel Cawoski in 4:37 before losing to Wisconsin-Parkside’s Pernevlon Sheppard 12-1. Schulz beat Central Oklahoma’s Nate Keim by medical forfeit in the seventh-place match.
Junior Jordan Magnuson went 3-2 at 285 pounds for MSUM while sophomore Evan Foster went 3-2 at 174. Schulz, Magnuson and Foster were the only Dragons to advance to the second day.
Schulz is 15-8 on the season while Foster is 13-8. Senior Zach Scott is 12-9 at 149 for MSUM.
Kris Nelson is in his 11th season as head coach of the Dragons.
UW-Parkside is 1-3 in duals on the season. The Rangers have lost duals to No. 8 Minnesota State (20-18), Augustana (20-15) and No. 2 Nebraska-Kearney (28-15). Senior Airk Furseth is 15-2 at 133 for UWP while junior Nathan Smith is 14-4 at 149 and junior Joe Arroyo is 13-5 at 125.
