Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes Are Now Available

SEATTLE, WA – A sure sign of autumn, the world’s favorite and most hated seasonal drink based on a nonexistent plant substance* is back. Starting today, you can pick up a pumpkin spice latte at your local Starbucks.

This is one of the earliest debuts for the PSL. That might be because Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks’ East Coast rival, rolled out its own PSL on Monday. And because it’s still pretty summer-y in most of the country (it’ll be 80 in Seattle Tuesday), Starbucks is offering an iced version of the PSL this year.

2018 is also the 15th anniversary of the PSL, which, over time, has become pretty controversial. People like to shame PSL-lovers, especially on social media, as being “basic.”

Don’t forget, Starbucks isn’t the only coffee shop selling PSLs. Your local coffee shop likely has its own PSL alternative – and it might even be better than the original.

*Starbucks’ pumpkin spice is made of: sugar, condensed skim milk, pumpkin puree, fruit and vegetable juice coloring, natural flavors, annatto, salt, potassium sorbate.
