Get Food Delivered Via Drone At North Dakota Golf Course (VIDEO)

GRAND FORKS, ND — Drone deliveries aren’t as a futuristic as they once seemed and soon golfers in North Dakota will be able to have food delivered to them via drone. Flytrex, an Israeli company, announced the news in a video released Wednesday.

The company calls it the first drone delivery service for golf courses in the U.S. The lucky golfers are those who play at Kings Walk Golf Course in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The video, filmed on Aug. 11, shows golfers ordering food via an app and a delicious burger flying over to the customer on the course.

According to Venture Beat, the delivery drones were approved by the local parks service earlier this year. In order to comply with legislation, the drones will fly within line of sight and over routes without people below, Venture Beat reports.

The service will be available starting Sept. 15, according to CNN. The plan is to start with a six-week trial with the deliveries going to just one location on the course. Kings Walk will add more delivery spots if the trial goes well and it receives the required permit to fly over people, according to CNN.
