Maasikas starts work as Estonia’s EU ambassador
Matti Maasikas succeeds Raul Mälk.
Matti Maasikas has been appointed Estonia’s permanent representative to the EU, succeeding Raul Mälk. Maasikas was a member of the Bureau of European Policy Advisers (BEPA), the European Commission’s in-house think-tank, served in the private office of European commissioner Olli Rehn in 2009-10, was ambassador to Finland in 2001-05, and secretary-general of the Estonian foreign ministry in 2005-08.
