Ahead of All-Star weekend (Feb. 14-16 in Chicago), the league has released the first round of fan voting results. A few big names are unsurprisingly at the top of the lists, but there are some surprises on the leaderboards for each conference.

Mavericks guard Luka Doncic holds a tiny advantage over reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in total votes with Lakers forward LeBron James not far behind. Fan favorites Alex Caruso and Tacko Fall crashed the top 10 at their respective positions, and Carmelo Anthony is back on the All-Star radar after joining the Trail Blazers in late November.
Check back for the latest results as we move closer to the All-Star break. Vote totals below will be updated for each round of fan voting.
How does the NBA All-Star voting process work?
The fan vote accounts for 50 percent of the total vote to determine the starters for the NBA All-Star Game. Current players and media members split the other 50 percent. Each ballot consists of two guards and three frontcourt players from each conference. Reserves are chosen by NBA head coaches, and league commissioner Adam Silver chooses injury replacements if necessary.
All-Star captains will then draft their teams from the eligible pool of players (starters in first round, reserves in second round). Captains will be selected based on which players earn the most fan votes in each conference. They are not required to draft based on conference affiliation or position.
Fans can vote for their favorite players on NBA.com or through the NBA app.
