Alabama wide receiver Henry Ruggs III is in concussion protocol after injuring himself in the third quarter of the Crimson Tide’s 35-16 over Michigan.
Ruggs dove for a deep third-down pass from quarterback Mac Jones, and clutched his left leg after missing the pass. But Alabama coach Nick Saban said after the game that Ruggs was in concussion protocol.
“Henry hit his head on the turf,” Nick Saban said (via AL.com). “He’s in the concussion protocol. We chose not to put him back in the game, which was a medical decision, as always. Hopefully he will be OK.”

Ruggs needed help from two trainers off the field after sustaining the injury. He went to the medical tent on the sideline and then walked to the locker room for further analysis. The junior had two receptions for 27 yards at the time of the injury. He is considered a candidate to declare for the 2020 NFL Draft, but elected to play the Wolverines anyway.
Ruggs finished the game with 40 catches, 746 yards and seven touchdowns on the season.
