No teams will be under more scrutiny this week in NFL action than the Steelers and Saints.
Both teams will be tasked with trudging ahead sans Hall of Fame quarterback, with Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger out for the season and New Orleans’ Drew Brees out for at least a few weeks with an injured thumb, for which he will have surgery. Brees will avoid a trip to the IR.
The two veteran quarterbacks entered the year under center for likely playoff-bound teams if not Super Bowl contenders. Now those rosters will have to find away to keep the offenses operating without those two. That should be easier for a team like New Orleans that still boasts one of the best running backs in the league in Alvin Kamara and wideout Michael Thomas, while having NFL veterans in Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill available to start under center.

The Steelers, meanwhile, will see 2018 third-round pick Mason Rudolph make his first career NFL start after coming in and throwing for two touchdowns and 112 yards filling in for Big Ben last Sunday.
While those teams will likely be the focal point for NFL analysts on Sunday, other matchups should bring intrigue for fans watching at home. The Browns will be given a chance to prove themselves at home against the Rams after picking up their first win of the season Monday against the Jets.
Lamar Jackson and the Ravens will also be given a true test after facing two of the league’s bottom-dwellers when they travel to Arrowhead Stadium to face off against a dynamic Chiefs’ offense.
