The start of the 2019-20 PGA Tour season has already been halted by inclement weather.

In just the second event of the season, play at the Sanderson Farms Championship was suspended after severe storms remained near the area of the Country Club of Jackson.

Round 1 will resume at 7 a.m. Friday, the tour announced.

However, a number of golfers were able to finish their rounds.

Tom Hoge remains in control of the field shooting 8-under 64 at the Jackson, Mississippi, course.

He held off Robert Streb, Cameron Percy and Seamus Power, who all share second place after finishing 7-under 65.

Zac Blair, Emiliano Grillo, Zach Johnson and Mark Anderson finished their first rounds as well and sit tied for fifth place (5 under).

An Byeong-hu and J.T. Poston also join the tie for fifth place, however, they both still have to finish their rounds. When the players left the course around 3 p.m. local time, An was through his 11th hole and Poston through the 8th.

Roughly half of the field will also have to play out Round 1 early Friday before the second round begins.
