Charles Schwab Challenge: Kevin Na gets 3rd tour win | Sporting News

Kevin Na entered the final round of the Charles Schwab Challenge with the lead and never looked back.

The veteran golfer earned his third PGA Tour win at Colonial Golf Course after further distancing himself from the field with a round of 4-under 66.

He finished 13 under for the tournament.

Na’s fourth round was highlighted with six birdies, four of which were on the front nine. He had a couple of hiccups with a bogey on the par-4 7th hole and again on the par-4 10th hole but recovered nicely.

Na, 35, had been playing well all week long in Fort Worth, Texas, and recorded the best round of the tournament Friday (62).

“It feels great,” Na said after his round. “Standing on the first tee, I looked at that wall (of winners at Colonial) and I imagined my name on it, and sure enough it’s going to be there.

“Every year I come here I know I have a chance to win, and I knew before my career was over I was definitely going to win out here, if not multiple times. It’s nice to get one, and who knows, maybe I’ll win a couple more times before my career is over here.”

Tony Finau, who was the 18-hole leader, remained in contention and ultimately finished in second place (9 under). He used a birdie on the par-4 18th hole to break out of a tie for runner-up.

It was his fifth second-place finish since the start of the 2017-18 season – the most of any player on tour.

Andrew Putnam and C.T. Pan finished in a tie for third place (8 under) and Jonas Blixt, who had also been in control of the leaderboard at one point, rounded out the top five at 7 under.
