Patrick Vieira have another attacker added to his ranks, as his Nice side have be signed 19-year-old Myziane Maolida after the youngster’s medical with the club on Monday. Maolida, an immensely promising Frenchman with over 40 caps for his country’s various youth groups, is set to leave Lyon after four years with the Ligue 1 outfit. Les Gones will receive €10m for their young attacker’s services, and have also negotiated a 30% sell-on percentage clause into the deal. He has signed a 5-year contract and now has a €100m release clause attached to his new deal.
A club dedicated to its philosophy centered around “the recruitment and development of young talents,” Nice have now added a gifted, youthful attacker in Maolida to a squad already boasting the likes of Allan Saint-Maximin, Malang Sarr, and Wylan Cyprien. The signing of Maolida will be even more important if Les Aiglons are subject to the departure of the talismanic Mario Balotelli. While Maolida is not currently at the same level as Balotelli, the 19-year-old has enormous potential and is a very smart signing for the Nice.
Described by his new club as rapid, technical, and a good finisher, Maolida has a number of attacking qualities that make him one of the most exciting young forwards in France. The newest Aiglon played in a total of 19 matches for Lyon last season, scoring twice. Maolida will be hoping to get more of an opportunity in the first team in Nice, as the attacker started just two of the 19 matches he appeared in for Les Gones.
