Inter Milan have made a 3-year contract offer to Edinson Cavani – L’Équipe

As Inter Milan continue to negotiate with PSG over the sale of Mauro Icardi, L’Équipe report that they have made a 3-year contract offer to 33-year-old Uruguayan attacker Edinson Cavani, whose deal with Les Parisiens expires next month.

El Matador’s deal is currently not expected to be extended by PSG, despite the fact that the Ligue 1 champions will have Champions’ League commitments past the 30th June date for the 2019/20 season owing to the COVID-19 delays.

Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is a big fan of Cavani, who will nevertheless be present on 22nd June when Les Parisiens return to training, even if it is for just 8 days before his contract expires.

A return to Italy, after spending time at Palermo and Napoli, is not out of the question – he has neither accepted nor rejected the 3-year contract offer made to him by Inter Milan. The outlet also mentions interest from Manchester United and Newcastle United, with the future Saudi owners dreaming of making him a lynchpin of their project. Contacts with Atletico Madrid have not entirely stopped, following his nearly-move there in January.

Despite everything, wearing the colours of Inter Milan, which is well on its way to qualifying for the Champions League, is an idea that is gaining ground in his still slightly clouded mind.
