Ligue 1 side Lille would accept a £45m including bonuses proposal to sell Dutch central defender Sven Botman this month, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News.
The 21-year-old has over the past week been the subject of multiple approaches from Premier League side Newcastle United, who saw an opening €35m proposal turned down by Ligue 1 champions Lille, as initially reported by Fabrizio Romano.
LOSC have so far opposed the Magpies attempts to sign the defender, as they prepare for their Champions’ League knockout campaign. However, they would concede to a sale for the above mentioned price, should NUFC return with an appropriate offer.
Botman, who currently earns between €55k and €75k a month at LOSC, would times his salary by a factor of at least six in the event that a transfer to Newcastle were to go through.
The player, who initially was focused on moving to a club that can offer Champions’ League football, is increasingly seduced by becoming the lynchpin in the new Newcastle United project.
