AS Monaco centre-back Benoît Badiashile (21) revealed in an interview with Goal that he had “informal contact” with Premier League clubs.
The France U21 international was a rumoured target for Newcastle and West Ham in January, with the former launching an unsuccessful €40 million bid, according to Foot Mercato.

In an interview with Goal, Badiashile has now revealed the extent of the interest. “I had some contacts with English clubs, but they were just informal contacts.”
“For me, the Premier League is the best league, so naturally I dream about it. But I’m very good at Monaco and I’m not rushing to leave.”
Having returned from a muscular injury sustained in January, Badiashile has been an integral element of Monaco’s return to form in recent weeks. Over the course of the Ligue 1 season, he has 31 appearances, keeping 7 clean sheets.
