Real Madrid re-established contact with Aurélien Tchouaméni’s (22) entourage last week in a move to convince the Frenchman of a move to the Spanish capital, according to Santi Aouna.
Liverpool remains, as they have for months, in pole position” for the AS Monaco and midfielder, according to Aouna.
However, Real Madrid hasn’t given up on bringing the French international to the Bernabéu. Although the newly-crowned Spanish champions don’t have the same financial clout as Liverpool at this moment in time, Florentino Pérez still believes he can convince Tchouaméni of a move to Madrid.
Regardless of this late move, Aouna reports that Liverpool “holds the ropes,” whilst Tchouaméni himself is said to be “keen to join the Merseyside club and, for now, the Liverpool option remains his priority.”
Tchouaméni has been strongly linked with a departure from Le Rocher in recent weeks and months. However, he hasn’t spoken publically about a move and recently said that he wasn’t opposed to the idea of playing Champions League football with Monaco next season.
