Official | Christophe Galtier is the new manager of PSG

Christophe Galtier has this afternoon been unveiled as the new manager of Paris Saint-Germain, taking over from Mauricio Pochettino after the Argentine’s departure was made official earlier today.

Galtier leaves Nice after a year in charge, his new employer buying out the final two years of his deal with Les Aiglons, having joined last summer in the wake of his Ligue 1 title with Lille. PSG is his fourth French club, having begun his managerial career with Saint-Étienne. He signs a two-year deal with the past campaign’s champions.

At his unveiling to the press this afternoon alongside president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Galtier explained that the prospect of reuniting with sporting advisor Luis Campos was crucial in his decision.

“Luis Campos’ presence at PSG was decisive, and then my exchanges with the president which made me accept the job of PSG manager, with a lot of humility but with great determination.”

“I’m going to speak with all the players. Managing such a squad is a privilege. We must have a common project, with no compromise. I’m not going to revolutionise the changing room, I know I’ll have everyone’s support. Once a player is not in the project, they will be set aside.”
