PSG reject Torino’s Daouda Weidmann bid

Foot Mercato are reporting that PSG have rejected an offer from Torino for academy product Daouda Weidmann (19), who only signed his first professional contract last summer.

Weidmann signed a three-year deal at the Parc des Princes last summer and spent last season playing for the club’s U19 side. Yet to make a competitive appearance for the senior side, the central midfielder has, however, played eight times for the youth side in the UEFA Youth League.

Those performances have impressed Serie A side Torino, who have been tempted into making an offer. However, PSG have rejected that offer, and given that the young Frencham still has two years remaining on his current deal, Torino may have their work cut out to prise the high-potential player away from the Capital.

Since Luis Campos’ arrival earlier in the summer, there has been an increased emphasis on youth development and benefiting from the rich pool of talent around the capital and within their own academy.
