‘A very good friend, a very good team-mate and an excellent player’: Foley on Donncha O’Callaghan

MUNSTER HEAD COACH Anthony Foley was holding back everything but praise for second row Donncha O’Callaghan today.

The second row is on the verge of a move to Premiership club Worcester Warriors after being given permission to seek out regular first team action. O’Callaghan, who was on a charity trip to South Sudan this week, had a year left on his contract and it is understood that IRFU performance director David Nucifora will have to approve any move out of that existing deal.

“That’s the speculation. It hasn’t been confirmed, I’m not allowed talk about it,” Foley told RedFM’s Big Red Bench in Cork today.

“I haven’t read the article, funnily enough my mobile isn’t working either. So I haven’t spoken to Donners, I haven’t spoken to anyone yet. So, literally, I don’t have a lot of information on it.”
