Haas’ Magnussen: ‘No guarantees we’ll be strong in Bahrain’

Despite Haas’ impressive speed at the outset this season, Kevin Magnussen is wary of making positive predictions for next weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix. After 31 hours of tense weekend talks—and five years of crippling austerity—Greece and its foreign creditors have struck a deal: an €86 billion bailout that will keep Greece in the Eurozone in exchange for controversial economic reforms that include tax hikes, pension overhauls, and severe budget cuts if the nation misses fiscal targets imposed and monitored by the so-called Troika. #ThisIsACoup Tweets European Council president Donald Tusk made the announcement of what he referred to…

Despondent Claire Williams says F1 is ‘basically broken’

Claire Williams says all the hard work in the world won’t bring success back to Williams, as the “financial discrepancy” between F1’s teams is just too big. The Grove-based outfit’s deputy team principal, who has been at the helm since 2013, believes a $150 million budget cap currently under consideration by Formula 1’s management could provide salvation for the sport. But if the changes do not come to pass, Williams is pessimistic about the future.…

Deficit to leaders is ‘bad news’ for Renault – Hulkenberg

Renault’s Nico Hulkenberg says the gap between F1’s mid-field and its trio of front-runners points to a lot of hard work ahead for the French outfit. While Renault certainly wasn’t expecting to close its deficit to Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull over the winter, the team was hopeful of inching a bit closer. There is no doubting the squad’s progress, with Hulkenberg taking away many positives from the Melbourne weekend, but a big shortfall in…

If Formula 1 puts together a good format for the future, there is no reason Ferrari will quit the sport ensures FIA President Jean Todt.
